We are a family business, growing coffee in the same area for over 100 years.

Since 2017, we have been focusing on specialty coffee and sharing our best practices among our community, in Minas Gerais, Brazil.

We are currently in Brazil sourcing the coffee samples to be delivered in the Netherlands within ~2 weeks.

If you are interested, please let us know.

It will be a pleasure to deliver these samples, either personally or through mail.

Climate volatility has tough implications to coffee quality. Producer will have to invest in irrigation projects - and in complementary cultures that create shade and environmental stability.

As such, we started several small scale irrigation projects - focused on retaining the water that flowed downhill.

Then, yes, we hired iron man - and his boss!!

An ordinary January afternoon from 3 years ago…

This year, the rainfalls were much scarcer. And the rainfalls of January tends to be key to define the harvest of July.

Still waiting (and hoping) for the rainfalls of January....

Spoiler alert: it has improved a lot.

Introducing new coffee trees is key for coffee quality.

Young trees produce denser, larger beans with brighter acidity, richer flavors, and better cup profiles.

Rejuvenation can double to triple yields while significantly improving bean size and sensory quality, making your coffee taste even more delicious and sustainable!

In 2017, a preservation area was established on the farm, covering the entire hillside from bottom to top and accounting for about half of the farm's total land.

Over the following years, this area has become a valuable site for comparing different coffee-growing practices, including monoculture versus mixed planting, shade-grown versus sun-grown crops, and shade-dried versus sun-dried processing.

Our farm sits at the base of a mountain in Andradas, Minas Gerais.

In the dry Brazilian winter, wildfires are common. We’ve been hit twice: once around 1997 and again in 2017.The second fire came right when our father was retiring and coming back to the farm.

That’s when he decided to go all-in on specialty coffee: restoring native forest, growing coffee in the shade, and mixing in crops like olives, bananas, avocados, and papayas.

It’s been a lot of trial and error — cycles of 1 to 5 years — but we’re getting there.

We’ll be sharing what we’ve learned along the way, hoping it helps other producers save time and avoid some of the mistakes we made.

Exchanging best practices is one of the nicest things about our job.
And European consumers are very conscient and add the highest standards to our operations.

So, we will share details about the reforestation program that we have been conducting since 2017. It was not perfect. But it was genuine. And it is ready to be scaled up.

Sharing is a form of commitment!
